It represents City’s tenth top-flight league title – and the sixth time in seven seasons we have won the Premier League, continuing Pep Guardiola’s remarkable record since taking charge of City back in 2016. Manchester City have been crowned 2023/24 Premier League champions, becoming the first men’s team in the history of English football to win four top-flight titles in a row. Last season, City became only the fifth club in the history of English football to win three top-flight titles in a row, joining Huddersfield Town (1924-1926), Arsenal (1933-1935), Liverpool (1982-1984) and Manchester United (1999-2001 & 2007-2009). Success this season means City are now the only men’s team to achieve four successive English league titles, the latest piece of history created by Guardiola and his remarkable side.

Manchester United have 13 titles.
It would be the first of 13 Premier League crowns – a record tally.
United would go on to win four of the first five Premier League titles, with their sequence interrupted by big-spending Blackburn Rovers in the 1994-95 season.
The only constant in terms of success were United until Ferguson retired after winning the title in 2013, after which they dropped away.

Taking top spot with five Premier League wins while being club captain is Chelsea’s John Terry. The former England defender was made Chelsea captain by Jose Mourinho in 2004 and led the Blues to their first Premier League title the same season. Terry enjoyed a very successful career during his 12 years as Chelsea captain winning five FA Cups, three League Cups, the Europa League and the Champions League in 2012. Terry made 492 Premier League appearances and scored 41 league goals, making him the highest-scoring defender in the history of the Premier League.

Manchester United (13 Premier League titles)
The Red Devils have been the most successful team in the Premier League’s history, winning the title on 13 occasions. All of their 13 Premier League titles were won under the management of legendary head coach Sir Alex Ferguson. United won their first title in the current era in the first season of the Premier League, 1992/93, and their last came in Ferguson’s last season as United boss, 2012/13. The fact that no other Manchester United manager has led the Red Devils to an English top-flight title illustrates Ferguson’s management skills.
