The 4 Nations Hockey Tournament was founded in 1996 as a way to bring together the top hockey-playing nations in the world for a more competitive and structured international competition. The idea was simple: bring together four of the most dominant hockey nations—typically Canada, Sweden, Finland, and the Czech Republic (with occasional replacements such as Russia or the U.S.)—for an elite-level round-robin competition. With only four teams competing, every game felt like a high-stakes battle, with national pride on the line and intense rivalries at play. The tournament’s history is marked by intense battles on the ice, with each nation bringing its own unique style of play.

GB will go head-to-head with hosts Denmark, as well as Italy and Poland, in the four-team tournament from 8th to 10th February.
Matches will be held at the Granly Arena and the tournament forms part of GB’s preparations for this year’s World Championship Division I Group B in Latvia, which gets under way in March with Italy and Poland also in the same group.
This tournament is great preparation for the Worlds later this year.
