According to world ranking, MMA is the hardest sport followed by Ice Hockey, Gymnastic, Water Polo, and football. To be honest, I think football is quite a difficult sport. It requires not only physical endurance and skill from players, but also constant tactical flexibility.

To settle the debate, sport experts suggest gymnastics is one of the most challenging sports behind boxing, American football and ice hockey. Gymnastics has one of the strictest scoring systems in the sports world, making it difficult to achieve a very high score. The sport demands excellent form, precise execution and flawless skills. Gymnastics is a scary sport and it has a high injury rate, there is no question about it. Every sport requires training, but training for gymnastics is on a whole other level.

Gymnastics can be dangerous. A gymnast could flip the wrong way and land on their face. Or they could fall off a high beam. As a result, gymnastics requires an incredible amount of bravery both during practice and at competitions – arguably a far greater amount than almost any other sport. But gymnastics training is also a long-term investment, and it involves doing some of the hardest athletic work imaginable. All these things are possible in gymnastics, though. This is because gymnastics requires absolute perfection in both movement and execution – something which almost no other sport requires.

That all depends on what you define as the hardest sport. If it is physical punishment, then hands down it will be a combat sport as you are getting constantly hit. However, if it is regarded as what requires the most skill it may not necessarily be a combat sport, of course to out-class Tyson Fury it is going to take some incredible skill, but for many fighters and even professionals, they have won many of their fights just by being fitter and stronger than their opponent. To give an overall opinion to what is the hardest sport it will need to be broken down to certain factors as each sport is harder in different areas.
