Founded in 1885, The Oxford University Ice Hockey Club (OUIHC) is recognised by the International Ice Hockey Federation as the second oldest club in the history of the sport. In recognition of the club’s tradition of excellence, its jersey hangs proudly in the Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Canada. In addition to competing in the top checking and non-checking divisions of the British Universities Ice Hockey Association, the OUIHC Men’s and Women's Blues teams also embark on tours and camps around Europe to play teams abroad.
The OUIHC has established a permanent endowment fund which, in addition to sponsorship and commercial income, will help support the ongoing development of the club, whilst reducing the financial barrier to participation for its members – both male and female. The Fund is managed by Oxford University Endowment Management, and the net income is used to support the club, which includes, but is not limited to, essential training and coaching costs, tours and camps, facilities and equipment, and logistic and travel expenditure, for all our teams.

The Paisley Pirates is one of the of the oldest ice Hockey clubs in Scotland they were formed in 1946, they continue to this day and now play at the Braehead Arena due to the Paisley Lagoon ice rink being unserviceable. Paisley Buddies were delighted that the Pirates were relaunched in the 1990’s with the opening of the new ice rink and are living up to past glories. The first Hockey Club was undoubtedly Blackheath. The oldest record in The Club’s possession is the minute book of 1861 which refers to the subscription being 7/6 and the retiring secretary Mr.R.O’Neill. In the early days, Blackheath Hockey and Football (Rugby) were one club and they did not become separate entities until 1864. Today the Club is part of a thriving sports club operating seven Mens teams, four ladies teams as well as regular mixed, festival, youth and junior teams.

Originally founded in 1932 We are one of the oldest British ice hockey teams still in existence. Streatham Ice Hockey Club in South London is one of the oldest clubs in the UK, established in 1932. During the 1980s, we were one of the leading teams in the British Hockey League.

Cambridge University Ice Hockey Club (CUIHC) prides itself as one of the oldest ice hockey clubs in the world. The Club is home to three teams: the men’s blues, the women’s blues and our mixed-gender development team the Huskies. During a typical week, each team has several hours of on-ice training (at Cambridge Ice Arena) as well as off-ice strength and conditioning sessions (at University Sports Centre). All teams play in a corresponding league under the BUIHA (British Universities Ice Hockey Association).
