The oldest active hockey rink in the world is in Massachusetts. Back then it was known as the "Boston Arena." Today, however, the oldest ice rink in the world is known as "Matthews Arena," home to the Northeastern Huskies. The Matthews Arena officially opened in 1910. According to a Northeastern News article, a new 310,000-square-foot complex will replace the 115-year-old, Matthews Arena around 2028/2029.

Madison Square Garden is the oldest arena in the National Hockey League. Opened in 1968, the Garden has become one of the most famous sports and entertainment venues in the world. It is also the oldest arena in the NHL.

Madison Square Garden, The Forum, Maple Leaf Gardens and Oracle Arena are the four arenas hosting NHL hockey in 1967 that still stand.
Pro sports are long gone from The Fabulous Forum, but the venue has seen new life as a musical venue–owned, interestingly, by the Madison Square Garden Company.
Oracle Arena, of course, is home to the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, at least through the next two seasons until a new San Francisco arena opens.
Maple Leaf Gardens still hosts hockey, albeit on a smaller scale after a massive renovation.

The Stanley Cup is the oldest professional sports trophy in North America and it is named after Lord Stanley of Preston, the 1892 Governor General of Canada. After he became interested in the sport, he donated the Cup to award Canada’s amateur hockey club. The trophy is awarded annually to the playoff champion club of the National Hockey League.
