Zak Jones will take on the role of Head Coach of the England and Great Britain’s men’s teams. Jones has been interim England men’s Head Coach since September 2024 and has led the team through the first two blocks of the 2024/25 FIH Hockey Pro League where the team now sit joint top of the standings ahead of the home matches in June.

Mike Clancy has stepped down from his role as head coach of the Great Britain women’s team, Ice Hockey UK have confirmed.
Ice Hockey UK will soon open a recruitment process for a full-time head coach for GB Women, who will also oversee the whole women’s programme.

He is currently the head coach of both the Cardiff Devils in the UK's EIHL and the Great Britain men's national ice hockey team. He is the most successful coach in GB history at both senior and junior level, with 11 medals including six gold medals. Since taking over for Great Britain Men in 2014–15, Russell led GB to two successive silver medals at the World Championship Division I Group B in his first two seasons in charge of the national team. In 2017, he won gold on home ice and promotion to the second tier. In 2018, he led GB to a memorable gold in Hungary in the World Championship Division I Group A to secure a top-flight World Championship place for 2019. Russell then led Great Britain to a dramatic overtime victory over France at the 2019 IIHF World Championship, which preserved their top-flight status.
