Ladbrokes are going as far as to put the Reds 25/1 to be in the Premier League by the time the 2028/29 season comes around. It's been an incredible journey already for the club since actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney became co-chairmen in February 2021. The Reds ended 15 years of hurt by earning promotion back to the English Football League just last month.

We’re certainly not looking any further than the next game, but I said recently that, eventually, I don’t think the Premier League is impossible – look at Luton Town. They got there with a brilliant structure behind the scenes, they gradually put building blocks in place, they made good decisions and got their rewards. There are clubs who try to achieve success and put themselves at huge risk financially by doing that, but this club isn’t one of them. The owners and myself want to create a club that’s strong for years to come. If we keep recruiting well, I hope there’s more to come. Getting back into the Football League was also key for our academy – we’ve employed a lot of quality people recently and that will be crucial, because you’ve got to produce players yourselves.

I just wonder, I know they're worth loads, but $400million, when does that become not enough. $400million, in life terms, is a ridiculous amount of money. But in the Premier League, $400million is nothing. How are they [Wrexham] going to survive without them? In fact, financial site Bloomberg cited Wrexham's value is worth approximately £100m, a figure 4,900 per cent more than when they bought the club.

The owners are ambitious enough to get there. They've always had the right fanbase and now they have the might of the Americans. Where Wrexham end up depends on where the owners want to take it. Hopefully, I'd like to see them in the Championship or Premier League in five years.

That's right: within a month of the FIFA Men's World Cup final on July 19, 2026, Wrexham could be preparing to face Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United during the 2026-27 Premier League season. All they need to do first is secure promotion from League One this season and go straight through the Championship next year. However, it's not quite as simple as that. No team has ever gone straight from the National League to the Premier League. Wrexham have big financial backing in the form of their Hollywood owners, while Ipswich Town are playing in the Premier League this season having done precisely what Wrexham need to do, having won back-to-back promotions from League One. As it stands right now, with such a small stadium and local fan base and a squad in need of Championship-level players, the challenge for Reynolds and McElhenney is clear -- if Wrexham go up and suddenly see the Premier League on the horizon, that might just be where the going gets really tough.
