The two actors bought the club in February 2021 for a nominal amount, but subject to the immediate investment of £2m. The most recent valuation available for the North Wales outfit was £9m, as revealed by club director Shaun Harvey in March this year.
Maguire said the takeover of Ipswich Town by a US investment fund in April 2021 may offer some clues to Wrexham’s current value. The Suffolk-based club are now in the Premier League, but were in League One when they were sold for approximately £40m. However, Maguire thinks Wrexham could achieve at least half that sales figure if Reynolds and McElhenney stick around. Could you get £20m or £30m? Only, in my view, if Reynolds and McElhenney are involved.
