Peter Hay is currently serving as MEI’s director of its popular Hockey Academy and will continue giving oversight to the academy. He was the Assistant Coach, Chilliwack Bruins WHL 2006/2010. He was also Head Coach, Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (B.C. Major Midget), 2017-19. In addition, he served as Head Coach, B.C. Provincial U16 Hockey Camp.

Peter Hay is the Director – Coach. Raised in Abbotsford Minor Hockey, Peter Hay went on to play many years of hockey at the Junior A and NCAA Div 1 College levels before advancing to the AHL and ECHL Pro leagues. Peter has brought his playing experience into coaching as he worked closely as an Assistant Coach with the WHL’s Chilliwack Bruins and was the head instructor of the CMS Hockey Academy. Peter continues to run his own hockey training program out of Abbotsford called PHD. Peter’s main goal in the MEI Hockey Academy is to see all players reach their potential in their hockey skills and personal character development while also giving players great opportunities to reach their best hockey levels.

Trinity Western University's women's hockey program will look to Peter Hay to provide new leadership in 2023-24, as Hay takes over as the interim head coach, effective immediately.
Hay comes to TWU having spent the last 10 years as the MEI Schools Hockey Director and Coach of the Hockey Canada Skills Academy, leading both girls and boys – a role he will continue in while with TWU.
Over the last four years, he has been the Manger of on-ice development for the Abbotsford Minor Hockey Association and the Manager of Advancement at MEI Schools.
