Brian is a Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native who began as an assistant coach with the Warriors during the 2003-04 season and is now in his 20th season as head coach. Since taking over as head coach, the team has earned an overall record (regular season and playoffs) of 258-224-45-6 and guided the Warriors to the 2013 University Cup (CIS Championship), their first since 1996. In 2018, Bourque became the winningest bench boss in program history.
In 2007 and 2010, Brian was named the OUA coach of the year and the University of Waterloo’s coach of the year. Brian also has two bronze medals in coaching roles at the World University Games.
